About

Learn about putting on gigs and festivals through hands-on experience at live events!

No prior experience is required - just a passion for live events. Whether you aspire to be a sound engineer or content creator or dream of organising festivals, Tune Up provides the perfect platform to start your journey.

Tune Up is an exceptional free programme tailored for 16-25 year-olds eager to gain hands-on experience in live events. This initiative offers participants a comprehensive introduction to the creative industries, with a particular focus on the live music sector.

Over ten weekly sessions, participants will engage in workshops covering production, programming, marketing, and event management. They will work closely with Brighten The Corners staff and industry specialists to plan and execute a live event. The programme culminates in a public, ticketed gig managed by the participants alongside our experienced team at one of our venues.

Participants will benefit from the expertise of industry professionals across various sectors, acquiring valuable skills and building the confidence needed to pursue volunteer and employment opportunities in the industry.

“There was lots of excitement before, I’ve not done stage management on such a big scale before. It was hard work, stressful but rewarding.”
