TUSSLES

  • The Smokehouse South Street Studios England, IP1 3NU United Kingdom (map)

Formed in Soho, London by Iain Richards (Vocals/Guitar) and Dave Morris (Drums) the band jammed through Queens of the Stone Age songs they had a shared love for alongside early versions of the songs that would later get recorded for the band’s debut album.

As Richards outlines: “We focused on the QOTSA album Era Vulgaris to give us a starting point. The tracks on there have got a real groove and when Dave hit the ground running nailing the drum parts on 3 of the tracks we’d chosen I knew we had potential.”

  • The duo gradually assembled a set of songs while the search began for a Bassist. In the end it was a long-time friend of Morris that got the gig – Shane McAuliffe.

“I’d known Shane for nearly 10 years. We’d studied music together and had recently written an album together so I knew he could play – and I knew he loved QOTSA! It came together fairly quickly.”

As McAuliffe himself says: “I came to a rehearsal to get a feel of the band and just loved the riffs and the energy. The tracks had plenty of melody but weren’t afraid to rock. I was hooked from the start.”

With the line-up cemented, the trio got to work on the album. Enlisting the services of the vastly experienced Paul Tipler (Placebo,Idlewild, Blackwing Studios) 10 tracks were recorded throughout the summer of 2024.

With the first single and video released in early September 2024 and a UK Tour in October 2024 the band look well positioned as ones to watch in 2025.
