After the devastating and sudden death of best friend and drummer Tom Williams in early 2020 it was looking clearer and clearer that Hot Tramp may have struck their last beat and left Ipswich and the wider scene without that special brand of preacher man, heavier than heavy, infectious blues riffs. Tom's and the band's loss was felt deeply in the local musical community.
But 3 years have passed, wounds heal and things need singing so Josh and Lewis with the help of former Ghosts Of Men drummer Adam will be relaunching Hot Tramp with energy and style in Ipswich's newest and best live venue - The 200 Capacity St Stephens Church.
With doors opening at 4pm no fewer than EIGHT amazing acts will grace the stage in Ipswich's most eclectic music event since Brighten The Corners. Hot Tramp will be joined by:
ECTO PEACH - local quirky wonky punk heroes, purveyors of the antidote to middle-aged angst
THE INTERESTING TIMES GANG - journeysmith weavers of epic story soundscapes and catchy robot chants.
JS & THE LOCKERBILLIES - rockabilly magic and rock n roll greatness with an edge from Suffolks finest sons
IMPILO - funk, soul, roots and rap all parcelled up and delivered in the most perfect way. it's been a while since these boys did their thing and we're honoured to have them back
BIG BIG SKY - One man with a guitar and a whole world of sounds at his fingertips. Hypnotic, enchanting, moving and rich shoegaze wonder from Essex
ROBIN DICKER - this man has got tunes for days. Not for the feint hearted or easily offended
CHRIS ASKER - local anti-punk singer-songwriting hero. You will want to be his friend if you're not already.
DJ-ing the whole event in the gaps will be Daniel Harvey spinning the most impeccably chosen vinyl this side of the Orwell
